We strongly recommend a mix of all types of music in order to appeal to all age groups. Remember, if there are specific songs or categories that you wish not to be played all you have to do is let us know, and how to handle those songs if they are requested. On average, we can play 15 songs per hour. On the rare occasion we don’t have the song you would like to hear, we can play any song that you may have on a CD.

                   Wedding Party Announcements

It is customary to introduce the wedding party at the reception. We will already have on paper from our consultation with you on how, and the proper pronunciation of all names in the wedding party to be announced. The DJ will line you up outside the main area, and then announce the wedding party. Immediately after announcing Wedding Party, normally one of two things will take place. 1) Announce the Bride and Groom's first dance, or 2) Announce the meal including the blessing, and / or the best man’s toast.

                                   The Toast

The Best Man usually proposes a toast to the Bride & Groom; however,                      anybody can do it. Also, it is perfectly acceptable to have more than one toast, I;E; father of the Bride, close friends and other family members. Whoever gives the toast is more than welcomed to use our microphone. This is usually done before the main meal or with the cake cutting.

                                        Cake Cutting

Cake cutting is best done when most of your guests has finished eating dinner or toward the end of the reception. Appropriate Music is either playing in the background or not played at all. It is generally a good idea to do this together with the bouquet and garter toss, so the dancing does not get interrupted, and it will allow you have a smooth flow of activities to keep your guests interested.

Bouquet  Toss and Garter Removal / Replacement

This is usually done immediately after the cake cutting ceremony (as the cake is being cut and served to your guests). Since nobody is dancing after the cake cutting, this is the best to get this event completed. The bride will throw the bouquet to all the single ladies. The groom then removes the garter from the bride and throws it to all the single gentlemen. Finally, the lady who caught the bouquet has the garter placed on her leg by the gentleman who caught the garter.

First Dance

Traditionally the first dance is only for the Bride and Groom. If the song chosen for the first dance is a long one, approximately 50% of couples will ask the bridal party to join them halfway through the song, the other half will have a separate song for the complete wedding party. After the first dance is where the Father – Daughter / Mother – Son dances usually occur, then the complete wedding party’s dance. Many couples choose to have their first dance after the meal / cake cutting so there is a smooth transition into the main dance program to where the dance floor is then opened up!

*** IMPORTANT: Guests tend to leave after the cake cutting ceremony if you do not have a good flow from ceremony to ceremony. That is why you need someone who has lots of experience as a master of ceremonies for a wedding reception!***
